Draper's Biotechnology Systems business empowers national security through the delivery of innovative solutions in the areas of Biodefense and Biomedical solutions to address the most pressing challenges and hardest problems. We are seeking a seasoned leader for the position of Director, Biomedical Systems, within our Biotechnology Systems business, to drive growth and impact with our government customers in DoD, HHS, NIH, NASA, and the Intelligence community. The Biomedical Systems business addresses needs on behalf of our nation's military members, veterans, and general public in the areas of Health and Human Performance. Responsibilities include:

This position reports directly to the Biotechnology Systems Vice President/General Manager. In this role, you will have Profit and Loss responsibility for the Biomedical business area, inclusive of strategy development and execution, business development, program execution, and talent management.

You will partner with Engineering and Business Functions to mature and execute a transformational growth strategy, deliver on customer commitments, and foster a culture of inclusivity reflective of Draper's core values and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).

    Develop, implement, and oversee the execution of a strategy that accelerates mission impact and growth of the biomedical business from early development through prototyping, production, fielding, and sustainment.
  • Deliver on our program commitments to our customers with strong customer satisfaction across cost, schedule, technical, management, quality, and communications.
  • Deliver a 5-year Integrated Business Plan and subsequent Annual Operating Plan (funding, revenue, and operating profit) to include accurate quarterly forecasts with balanced risk and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, direct-reports and customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentations skills, organizational and time management skills. Candidate must be able to clearly present ideas to executive leadership, peers, staff, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Talent management, inclusive of strategic staffing and individual development planning, with voluntary retention rates > 90%
  • Grow business development pipeline with qualified leads > 300% of the following years revenue targets that align with our market business strategies.
  • Grow and develop diverse program management talent pipeline.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic growth plans, build and lead highly skilled and diverse teams to deliver impactful solutions to customers primarily within the U.S. Government.
  • 10 years or more years of experience leading complex programs or program portfolios exceeding $25M to achieve organizational objectives and customer requirements.
  • Experience with DoD and US Government acquisition, budgeting and contracting procedures.
  • Experience navigating and accessing key stakeholders within DoD (Defense Health Agency, DARPA, Office of Secretary of Defense), US Government (Health & Human Services, BARDA, NIH, ARPA-H) and related commercial entities to drive business growth and impact.
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse matrixed and virtual teams with a focus on inclusivity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational strategy development inclusive of investment, infrastructure, and talent management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex business captures/proposals and campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead change including organizational transformations and policy changes.
  • Experience with Lifecycle Management and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related technical fields

Preferred qualifications

  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • Advanced degree in Business Administration or related Technical Fields
  • Active Secret security clearance
