Job Summary: The primary objective of this role is to identify, advocate and pursue new business opportunities/strategies with the Department of the Air Force (DAF). Business Development Managers are the front-line force with respect to customer contact, coordination, and correspondence. As part of a team dedicated to growing the business, Business Development Managers are chartered with winning the customer, delivering an extraordinary customer experience, and infusing our strategic focus and messaging into all elements of our customer engagement, pipeline, and pursuits. The successful candidate will bring a rich experience set that can support the breadth of Cubic's defense business, Cubic Mission and Performance Solutions (CMPS), capabilities and demonstrate an ability to engage effectively and efficiently with teams in a highly collaborative remote work environment. The candidate will also demonstrate a strong understanding of national strategy, DAF roles and missions, organization, business contacts, and acquisition and budgeting processes. The candidate will also be able to collaborate, based on their direct experiences, on overall business shaping approaches and pricing strategies. This position is remote and typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. This position reports to the DAF Account Executive.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in a technical or business discipline plus ten years' combined USAF, Hanscom experience in any of the following: Active Military Service, Defense Industry Business Development and/or Strategy, Acquisition, Program Management, Business Management, Contracts Management, or Engineering. Relevant military Acquisition, Requirements and/or Program Management experience with Aerial Networks; Data Link Enterprise (DLE); Theater Deployable Communications; Common Data Link (CDL); Special Programs; AF DCGS; AWACS; Kessel Run; and/or NC3 are highly desirable. Results driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations. Able to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines. Must have extensive knowledge of and experience in the procurement process for complex military systems. Experience in mission and/or requirements development. Requires the ability to effectively deal with technical and management representatives of the U.S. Government and industrial customers. Must have excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Must be able to travel as required. TS clearance eligible, Active TS clearance preferred.
