Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting Project Managers in the successful execution of the project. The Project Engineer must utilize strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle a wide range of tasks required in all phases of the construction process. The Project Engineer reports to a Project Manager who provides oversight to enable the Project Engineer to accomplish their assigned work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pre bid / Post bid pricing - working to assist estimating / construction department to attain most cost-effective plug number in order to meet company financial goals.
  • Assist in coordination and review of subcontracts and purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Review vendor, subcontractor and self-performance pricing and recommendation vendor/subcontractor to Project Manager.
  • Manage the concrete design process from initial specification review to post project record keeping.
  • Review and evaluate site conditions to properly recommend equipment usage in regard to cranes, pumps, loaders etc.
  • Provide support to Project Management in their absence.
  • Promote Safety, Quality Control and DN Tanks' WOW! Programs.
  • Coordinate and monitor quality control testing and results.
  • Provide support/solutions to Superintendents on field issues, logistics of materials, equipment procured, shoring, and safety.
  • Travel to project sites for preconstruction meetings, quality control inspections and safety inspections.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or another Construction base curriculum such as Construction Management, Construction Science or Construction Technology.
  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills required in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with Primavera P6
