POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, performs variety of manual labor tasks and general maintenance activities throughout the hospital and its premises to maintain a safe and efficient hospital environment.  Duties may include installing, repairing, adjusting, and replacing locks and other door closures around various buildings and facilities; making duplicate keys when required; and managing the supply of keys for all staff, documenting when you issue keys and noting when they are returned. Our ideal candidate has completed an accredited locksmith program, is proficient in the techniques of the trade, and can use a variety of hand and power tools. Assists carpenters, masons and other specialized contractors as assigned.

Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma (or GED) is required. Completion of a trade school apprenticeship program or higher, preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least one years’ experience as a locksmith in either a construction, commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Basic computer proficiency to keep computerized records and prepare reports.
  • Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions in English and ability to read, comprehend, and work from plans and blueprints.
  • Highly detailed-oriented and ability to maintain proper productivity and work flow for multiple projects.
  • Must be a team player and able to maintain cooperative working relationships.  Must display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
  • Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the trade. Must be able to safely handle hazardous materials.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
