Job Description:

We are looking for a pro-active, eager, and assertive Senior engineer who enjoys working within a team environment. In this role, you will actively contribute to the engineering efforts required for the manufacture of High-Reliability products and related processes and product developments. The position is process orientated and will operate amongst a variety of engineering disciplines. Role functions will include the support of design, manufacturing, materials analysis & definition, production analysis, and process advancement.

This role is an experience-rich opportunity for a Senior level manufacturing engineer to work alongside a team of experienced cross-discipline engineers. In this fast-paced collegial environment, the selected candidate will quickly integrate within a role characterized as having high levels of autonomy immersed within the company's broad-based manufacturing environment that has the support of several internal foundries, assembly plants, testing facilities, and FA resources.

Responsibilities

  • Actively own engineering responsibilities for assigned product groupings.
  • Drive & lead engineering efforts for new product development and qualification.
  • Perform in-depth studies where opportunities exist for improvement to assigned processes and products.
  • Ensure World-Class Manufacturing concepts are vigorously pursued; implement and/or support continuous improvement programs
  • Understand MIL-PRF-19500 & MIL-STD-750 specifications as they apply to assigned products & processes.
  • Originate, implement, and /or support Prime Cost Reduction programs, and yield improvement programs.
  • Ensure product test process definition documentation is maintained, and support manufacturing training.
  • Understand and implement Microchip Lawrence's Quality Manual and related in-house procedures as they apply to assigned processes and new products.
  • Take on other related engineering duties as required and assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, or other related engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum of 6 years manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Project / Program management experience including successfully leading technical teams.
  • Ability to think holistically and creatively to introduce unique solutions to problems.
  • Fluency in utilizing appropriate best-practice engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods such as SPC, Gage R&R, DOE, 5 Why's, 6 Sigma, etc.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with high proficiency in Excel.
  • Must be well organized with an ability to multitask, work on a diverse set of problems while simultaneously being on a steep learning curve.
  • Practical verbal and written communication skills (English), can clearly present and discuss manufacturing information to technical and non-technical team members.


Desirable

  • The ideal candidate will have experience within a Semiconductor Manufacturing environment in Product, Test, or Assembly Engineering capacity for metal or glass packaged devices.
  • Experience with MIL-PRF-19500 & / or MIL-PRF-38534 product manufacture
  • Advanced degree (Master of Science).
