Summary

Skyworks' Technology and Manufacturing Group (TMG) is responsible for advanced technology development as well as high-volume, high-quality manufacturing operations that makes Skyworks a leading player in the semiconductor industry. Our group's mission is to drive continuous technology innovation across all aspects of our products to offer step function performance improvements while maintaining unprecedented quality in high volume productions.

As a student intern with the technology team in TMG, you will work directly with some of the technology leaders in our group to explore, analyze, design, or develop new and disruptive technologies and devices. You will collaborate closely with engineers across functional teams and locations to improve key performance metrics for integrated passive devices and associated technologies.

Responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Investigation of state of the art in integrated passive device technologies, processes, geometries, structures, and materials
  • Theoretical analysis, simulation, design, tape-out, and measurement of various integrated passive devices, processes, and materials
  • 2D, 2.5D, and 3D electromagnetic simulation of various integrated passive devices, materials, and structures
  • Documentation and presentation of data and results
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should be or possess:

  • Pursuing a master's or PhD degree in, Electrical Engineering, with focus on integrated circuits, radio frequency (RF) or high frequency circuits and systems, electromagnetics, or other similar field.
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of electromagnetics, circuit design, and RF or mmWave systems
  • Fluent in integrated circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools, e.g. cadence, ADS and HFSS
  • Knowledge and experience in advance semiconductor technologies and processes
  • Strong analytical and communications skills

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
