Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Director is responsible for strategic program development plans, building a client portfolio and providing hi-level senior management, this role can be a remote position, or deployment to one of TRC-s corporation offices or a hybrid of each. The role is responsible to guide utilities in the strategic development and implementation of work practices and actualizing efficiency actions which aids in optimization of their vegetation management programs while improving grid resiliency. This position will be responsible for ensuring that Program Management teams embrace collaboration and provide strong leadership and management skills consistent with TRC core values. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Vegetation Management.

The team consists of program and project managers, arborists, engineers, foresters, land agents, environmental biologists and digital experts.

The duty of this role will be to work seamlessly to analyze and execute solutions across full vegetation management lifecycles. Understanding the continuously evolving vegetation management regulatory and operational demands of planning, implementation, program and project management, permitting, auditing, compliance requirements, as well as environmental, biological and cultural monitoring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage project budgets, manage to budgets, reforecast monthly.
  • Responsible for strategy and/or managing and overseeing portfolio of projects.
  • Utilize TRC and client technology to effectively manage projects.
  • Responsible for the overall program activities. Identifies negative trends, problem issues and implements resolution to reduce or eliminate adverse impacts on overall performance. Performs regular risk analysis.
  • Reviews regulatory requirements and assists Project Managers in the development of written Execution Plans for the implementation of the activities needed to meet those requirements.
  • Assure that teams are notified of client programs; this may include planning, schedules, polices, guidelines, procedures, safety, emergency response, and quality assurance.
  • Monitors Program performance of activities, completion of documentation, personal conduct, and work ethics. Evaluates these actions and provides guidance, coaching, motivation, or discipline as necessary to reinforce their role on the project.
  • Implements and documents the necessary actions to incorporate work changes and if possible, maintain progress schedules and budgeted costs.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to all project land staff ensuring project commitments and goals are met, to include survey, title, acquisition, document and administrative staff, non-environmental permitting, and construction support.
  • Hi-level client interface and strategic advisor.
  • Complete Personnel Performance Evaluation of personnel upon completion of their assignment.
  • Poses knowledge of electric transmission projects and industry vegetation management plans.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor-s degree in an applicable field
  • Must have vegetation management experience
  • Must have at least 5 years of project management experience

Preference given to candidates with PMP certificate

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $100k - $130k. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
