Procurement Director

Triumvirate Environmental is seeking an experienced Procurement Director to strategically develop our procurement function, implement category management, and enhance our processes, policies, and controls.

You will drive year-over-year improvements in the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for our operational and general corporate needs while mitigating third-party risks.

The successful candidate will bring strategic sourcing expertise, leadership, supplier relationship management skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with our regional General Managers and corporate functions.

This is a hybrid role based in our Somerville, MA corporate office.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, setting a clear vision for the function and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Establish and evolve the new procurement operating model in the corporate functions and the regional operating units.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize the procurement of direct and indirect materials and services.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration, quality improvement, and innovation.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate and contract with external suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve cost reduction and process efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the procurement function, optimizing workflows, automating manual processes, and implementing procurement technologies.
  • Utilize data analysis and procurement technologies to extract insights and inform decision-making.
  • Monitor costs, trends, and budgets to control expenditures.

Skills and Competencies Summary:

  • In-depth knowledge of strategic procurement best practices and an ability to 'read the market.'
  • Proficiency in supplier relationship management, including communication and conflict resolution.
  • Expertise in contract management, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
  • Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in procurement technologies.
  • Leadership and change management skills, including motivating and empowering teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 3-5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation preferred.
  • Oracle ERP experience.
  • Experience in environmental services and hazardous waste disposal or another regulated industry.
