Group 81--Summer Research Program Intern (Novel Microelectronic Devices)

Group 81 - The Advanced Materials and Microsystems Group combines chemistry, biology, materials science, electronics, optics, photonics, microfluidics, nanofabrication, and advanced textiles to develop new technologies for a range of applications. We are developing advanced microelectronic devices to enable transformational improvements in the power and performance of computing system for Artificial Intelligence applications. We are looking for motivated candidates to assist with advanced microelectronic device design, fabrication, and testing.

The successful candidate will have both coursework and practical experience with microelectronic device design, fabrication, or testing. They will have demonstrated ability to work with and communicate well with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and technicians.

Requirements:

  • BS (by June 2024) in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in microelectronic device design, fabrication, or testing
  • Cleanroom fabrication experience

Preferred:

  • MS (by June 2024) in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Theoretical understanding principles of semiconductor device operation
  • Statistical design of experiments experience
  • Experience with parametric data analysis
  • Ability to conceive of novel experimental approaches and to challenge existing assumptions
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
