Job Description

Keros Therapeutics is a public, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel treatments for patients suffering from hematological and musculoskeletal disorders with high unmet medical need. We are a leader in understanding the role of the transforming growth factor-beta, or TGF-, family of proteins, which are master regulators of red blood cell and platelet production as well as of the growth, repair and maintenance of muscle and bone. We have leveraged this understanding and developed a discovery approach to generate large and small molecules to address diseases of these tissues. Targeting TGF- signaling pathways has been clinically proven to elicit robust changes in blood cells, muscle, and bone, which we believe provides a precedent and strong rationale for our strategy.

This role is responsible for media and feed preparation, execution of experiments for upstream biologics process development, routine daily maintenance of upstream equipment, and experiment data management and analysis. Organizational skills, communication skills, and recordkeeping are also critical to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • CHO mammalian cell cultures in shaker flasks, WAVE bioreactors, and benchtop bioreactors.
  • Media and feed formulation as needed for experiments.
  • Data management and analysis including metabolite, gas, cell count, and titer data.
  • Media and feed studies to support process development on early phase programs.
  • Scale-down modeling and range finding to support development and program technology transfers.
  • Depth filtration filter loading studies to develop cell culture harvest strategies.
  • Routine maintenance on upstream equipment to maintain daily functionality.
  • Occasional weekend work may be expected based on project needs.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a chemical engineering, bioengineering, molecular biology or related program to earn a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.
  • Familiar with aseptic technique methods
  • Familiar with experiment design.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Technical and scientific writing and presentation skills
