Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Newton, MA. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The Senior R&D Engineer will contribute to new product development by designing and developing product subsystems and electromechanical test setups, performing technical research, preparing reports, and presenting to the team.
  • You will contribute to realizing the next generation of interventional robotic platforms.
  • This is a collaborative opportunity where you will work cross-functionally with R&D engineers, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
  • Design and develop product subsystems.
  • Lead various technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and disciplines.
  • Design electromechanical test fixtures to assist test operations and assembly.
  • Formulate test methods for characterization, verification, and validation purposes.
  • Test new or existing products in the development cycle to characterize performance.
  • Analyze test data using statistical methods.
  • Wire and install motors, drives, racks, and motion control equipment.
  • Help with the vendor communications and procurements.
  • Execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision.

Pay: $70.40/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Robotics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in electromechanical R&D engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in designing, assembling, and testing electro-mechanical systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with complex electro-mechanical systems (integration, test).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in interpreting various regulatory standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years in medical device or other regulated industries.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with launching products highly.
  • Experience in off-the-shelf component selection for regulated industries.
  • Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab.
  • Experience using, modifying, and programming LabView routines.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office is necessary.
  • Demonstrated CAD proficiency.
  • Solidworks.
  • Ability to multitask and work under aggressive deadlines are critical to success.
  • Be an energetic and self-starter engineer with a continuous improvement mindset and good problem-solving skills who loves working on various projects and tasks and learning and growing fast in a dynamic team.
