About New Balance FoundationSince 1981, The New Balance Foundation (NBF) has made innovative community-led investments to provide pathways for young people to lead healthy, active, and fulfilling lives. To date, NBF has granted more than $140 million USD to 80 best-in-class NGO's, with an average length of investment of 14 years. In 2012, we launched New Balance Foundation International (NBFI) to expand grantmaking outside of the US in key global markets, including Canada, the United Kingdom, and most recently France, Germany and The Netherlands.This position is based at the New Balance Amsterdam office.Job Mission

The Global Community Engagement Associate will support (NBF) in its philanthropic efforts as well as our associate volunteering programs across our global communities. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grant management, volunteer coordination, and corporate philanthropy. Reporting to NBF's co-Directors (located in our Boston Headquarters in the US) and our existing staff based in the UK, this role will assist with the grant making in EMEA, Canada and future NBF-focused markets. In addition, this role will oversee our hallmark associate engagement effort, "NBGivesBack" by supporting volunteer events for local offices. In order to help tell the story of NBF's investments, they will also help support communication and branding efforts ranging from coordinating photography, creating social media content, and managing in-kind donations and product procurement for our grantees. Finally, this position will provide general administrative support to The Foundation Team when required.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Support

  • Provide support through the life cycle of a grantee, including facilitating the grant vetting process via site visits all the way through payment (Global Giving and Impact Assets).
  • Ensure all NBFI grantees meet submission requirements in line with NBF's grant cycle.Follow-up post-award decisions to grant recipients along with information regarding reporting requirements.
  • Assist Global Grants Manager with site visits to see programming firsthand and foster ongoing relationships.

Associate Engagement Program
  • Coordinate and liaise with associate "charity leads" across global offices to facilitate volunteerism and give-back activities.

  • Lead monthly "charity leads" meetings and maintain a schedule of volunteering opportunities for associates.

  • Research and introduce new volunteering opportunities for EMEA associates in line with NBGivesBack policy and focus areas.

  • Track all charity activity across all NB global offices (in-kind, volunteerism, and corporate charitable donations)

Communications and Outreach:
  • In coordination with the US-based Global Philanthropy Communications Manager, support the team with NBF's global social media and communication efforts related to grants and volunteer programs.

  • Liaise with charity partners, external agencies, and associate volunteers as needed to gather necessary assets and content for internal and external communications (eg. press releases, social media, web content).

  • Assist with the promotion of volunteer opportunities, share volunteer success stories and updates on social media.

In-Kind Donations
  • Help ensure any donations received from other departments are recorded and donated to NBF and non-NBF charity partners in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with Team Sports and NBF partners to process any apparel donations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a relevant field (e.g., NGO Management, HR, Public Administration, Communications, etc.).

  • Two to four years' experience in relevant field

  • Enthusiastic about NBF's mission and objectives.

  • Passion and interest in international development, youth development and health programming.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent research and analytical skills.

  • Experience as a volunteer or volunteer coordinator is necessary.

  • Knowledge of donor databases and CRM software is beneficial.

  • Willingness for travel within EMEA and occasional travel to NBHQ and other regions

  • Fluency in multiple language preferred
