Job Description:

The Inspector III is primarily responsible for verifying that materials (piece parts, wafers, die, assembled product) are acceptable to use for production and shipping to our customers. Also, for supporting and maintaining our Quality Management System through a variety of other quality functions as needed, including scanning and archiving completed quality records and product testing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and approve materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual, document review, and measurement tests
  • Utilize calibrated tools for piece part measurements
  • Utilize microscopes for inspections
  • Read and understand technical and dimensional drawings
  • Review paperwork to ensure compliance to specifications
  • Document inspection results by completing reports, logs and inputs data into quality database
  • Write non-conforming reports for materials out of specified parameters and track to completion
  • Scan and archive completed paperwork into SharePoint database
  • Perform test operations as necessary
  • Support and maintain ISO9001 compliant QMS through continual improvement
  • Regularly interact with engineering groups, manufacturing, supply chain
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and work relationships within the department, the group, the Corporation and the community; and maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years plus of relevant experience as a Quality inspector (electronics or machining industry preferred)
  • Experience with measuring devices such as gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Hands-on experience with electronics manufacturing, materials, processing, and test
  • Proficiency in computer usage and Microsoft Office for record keeping and reports
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read, follow customer drawings, process and test instructions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience using an ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics Axapta preferred
  • Experience with MIL-PRF-19500, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-750, ISO9001 preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with individuals of all levels
  • This position requires travel of 0-10%.
