The RoleAspen Technology, Inc. (AspenTech) is seeking a BI Architect to join our Business Applications team. Reporting directly to the Director, Business Applications, this position will be responsible for leading data strategy, contributing to enterprise data lake & analytics platforms using Snowflake, Fivetran and DBT technologies and drive standardization, operational excellence across the organization.

This role will be based in Bedford, United States, and work in close collaboration with all IT functions as well as other business functions across AspenTech.

Your Impact
  • Development/Implementation:Design, implement, and support large datasets; Interface with IT teams, gathering requirements and delivering solutions; Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve the operational and quality metrics; Perform code review to meet business and technical specifications including performance tuning during the development lifecycle. Working closely with data engineers, process SME, API developers, our DevOps team, and analysts to design systems which can scale elastically.
  • Support/Maintenance:Manage change management, audit compliance processes with audit teams; Act as escalation contact for issue resolution and problem management in analyzing the issues reported by IT teams and finding an optimal and faster solution to the issues.
  • Research, Analysis, Consultation and Collaboration:Collaborate with various levels of IT teams by providing technical/domain guidance, building scalable applications to meet business and technical specifications; Working effectively in a distributed global team environment across US and other global regions; Engage with leadership and diversified IT groups to understand the needs and recommend solutions. Acts as a data subject matter expert to guide and support various enterprise teams on data centric solutions.
  • SnowPro certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Snowflake Data vault is preferred.
  • Experience with Snowpark ML, Snowflake Cortex or other Generative AI solutions is a plus.

What You'll Need
  • 10+ years in a related role in addition to a bachelor's degree in information systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis, design, data modeling, architecture of databases, data warehousing, data lakes on Snowflake infrastructure, data staging, data pipelines and preparing data for business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience with architecture and technologies such as Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT, Oracle, SQL Server, GitHub, PowerBI and CI/CD framework.
  • Experience with business applications like Oracle ERP, Salesforce, Coupa, Zuora, Workday, Adaptive Planning, Master Data Management processes.
  • Expertise in designing ETL/Ingestion frameworks with several years of hands-on experience in implementing several aspects of data pipelines including ingestion, transformation, data quality checks, monitoring, alerts, notifications etc.
  • Understanding of enterprise data management concepts (Data Governance, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Sharing, Data Applications).
  • Experience in developing DBT models to transform data into useful, actionable information.
  • Expertise in setting up resource monitors, RBAC controls, virtual warehouse, query performance tuning, zero copy clone, time travel.
  • Experience with Power BI, DAX in delivering large dataset visualization solutions.
  • Experience with optimizing data pipelines, data models, workloads, and cost optimization for Snowflake, Fivetran, Power BI & DBT.
  • Strong knowledge of programming, de-bugging skills, performance tuning and shell scripting.
  • Solid business acumen, critical problem-solving ability, with a capacity for strategic thinking.
  • Comfort level with ambiguity and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Willingness to learn and experiment with technologies outside of his/her comfort area in an agile environment and think of new ways to help make our data platform more scalable, resilient, and reliable and then work across our team to put your ideas into action.
