Job Description

Reporting directly to the Finance Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating insurance activities, analyzing insurance data, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering effective communication between internal and external stakeholders.

This role will report directly to the Controller and will interact with third party insurance brokers, insurance carriers, as well as act at a liaison within the company on all insurance matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer insurance programs, including but not limited to property, casualty, liability, and employee benefits insurance.
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers, underwriters, and carriers to obtain and maintain appropriate coverage for the organization.
  • Process insurance claims and ensure timely resolution, including documenting claims, communicating with adjusters, and tracking claim status.
  • Analyze insurance data and trends to identify potential risks, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate insurance records and databases, including policy documents, certificates of insurance and claims files.
  • Prepare and review insurance policies, contracts, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with insurance-related reporting and analysis, including preparing insurance schedules and tracking payments of premiums.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to ensure alignment of insurance strategies with business objectives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies and initiatives to mitigate insurance-related risks.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding insurance inquiries, claims, and coverage issues.
  • Stay informed about changes in insurance regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize insurance programs.
  • Support internal audit processes related to insurance and provide documentation and reports as needed.
  • Other administrative duties outside of insurance, primarily relating to application overview.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance administration, risk management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles, policies, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in analyzing insurance data and generating reports using spreadsheet and database software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Associate in Risk Management) are a plus.
