WORK STYLE DESIGNATION: Onsite (BOS)

WORKSHIFT: First

EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $26.57 - $36.54 Hourly

This pay range is for the position's base salary only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.

POSITION SUMMARY

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Service Department with calibrating, modifying, and maintaining equipment supplied by Hitachi High Tech, Occasional customers as required. {E}
  • Perform instrument verification in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. {E}
  • Ensure all reports, records and other information required for the day to day running of the Service Department are produced and maintained. {E}
  • Troubleshoot and repair all assigned systems to the appropriate level, ensuring that the system is returned to full operation in accordance with its performance specification and within a cost-effective time frame. {E}
  • Ensure costs generated by actions undertaken are controlled. {E}
  • Communicate with customers concerning the status of repair and or safety issues arising from work on their system in a timely manner. {E}
  • Establish a time-based escalation procedure to ensure customer satisfaction. {E}

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for tracking inventory consumed on a work order {E}
  • Maintain departmental manuals and technical information as necessary. {E}
  • Document repair actions in Salesforce. {E}
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. {E}
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. {E}
  • 5S experience helpful. {E}

EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 Year Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Equivalent Experience.
  • Three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum three to six years of Analytical industry experience.
  • Must be able to support up to 10% travel.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to drive tasks and projects to a timely completion is essential. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritize daily tasks and projects, take the lead in resolution of equipment issues, and have the confidence to notify management when it appears goals or customer expectations may not be met.
  • Knowledge of electronics and PC based instrumentation desired. Previous experience with spectroscopic techniques with XRF, LIBS, or OES a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excel working within a Windows environment and familiar with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • Ability to resolve problems and overcome obstacles by rapidly seeking knowledge from all available resources. This includes peers, factory, parts manufacturers, books, Internet, etc. Effective discovery and utilization of knowledge resources is pivotal efficient problem solving. Creative solutions must often be employed to achieve results.
  • Provide expert-level skills for equipment maintenance and operation.

  • Possess' positive interpersonal skills.
  • Possess' strong written and oral communication skills. Customer focused and service oriented.
  • Ability to work flexible and extended schedules to meet support expectations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage workload in an organized manner and carry out tasks accurately. {E}
  • Hand-eye coordination as needed to support activities with fine detail mechanical work.
  • Ability to hear audible indicators.
  • Visual acuity necessary to perform fine mechanical alignment.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish color-codes.
