Job Description
Senior level role that oversees development of or develops and introduces new or enhanced products and services in existing markets to strategically manage the product development lifecycle. Delivers enhancements that improve product using contract language, underwriting rules/guidelines, system/platform, automation, and use of pricing/predictive analytics. Supports and manages insurance product performance in market by leveraging analysis, insights across a variety of internal and external sources to conduct root cause analysis. Researches solutions that inform recommended actions to improve profitability, growth and customer experience in support of annual profit and growth plans. Creates insights from intelligence about customer, market and competitors for problem solving and proactively monitoring trends in the market. May specialize in product development and/or product management depending upon needs of business area.

Position Compensation Range:

$125,000.00 - $212,000.00

Primary Accountabilities
*Oversees development of specific strategies related to price, product and underwriting. Executes and delivers product initiatives that lead to profitability and growth.
*Collaborates with subject matter experts and other company leaders to implement changes that enhance the customer experience.
*Researches the competition to develop opportunity and threat assessments.
*Directs end-to-end life cycle of department and corporate initiatives.
*Oversees implementation of product changes in compliance with laws and regulations.
*Leads with a continuous improvement approach.
*Develops and maintains strong technical expertise and knowledge within the product management team.
*Oversees research and insights gathering and analysis including competitive intelligence, customer empathy, develop pricing models and analysis, and innovation methodology.
*Develops customer product strategy including customer segmentation, roadmap development and maintenance of product backlog. Collaborates with product management for opportunity identification, enterprise service linkage, vendor management and research.
*Executes and oversees lean product innovation processes to test-and-validate product needs using minimum viable product and other concepts.
*Develops and oversees process for launch of products, services and enhancements. Ensures overall compliance and financial viability.
*Identifies and develops expansion strategy in partnership with appropriate distribution partners to increase exposure of product to appropriate new markets.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
*Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
*Demonstrated experience developing insurance product/line of business strategies.
*Extensive knowledge of leveraging customer, market, and competitor intelligence.
*Extensive knowledge and experience with lean innovation, agile or other development/innovation approaches.
*Extensive knowledge of market research and marketplace and regulatory trends.
*Extensive knowledge and understanding of product design, pricing and product management.
*Solid knowledge and understanding of advanced financial and data analysis techniques.
*Demonstrated experience leading projects in product development and product management.
*Demonstrated experience with profit and loss accountability.
