Job Description
As a Payroll Specialist with ATC, you will handle all payroll functions, ensuring payroll is processed weekly, accurately and in compliance with government regulations and company policies.  There will be some HR support dealing with HR functions on a daily basis.

This role is office based in Carlisle, MA. (100%)
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs timecard collection, review and required follow up of employee data to process weekly payroll.
  • Calculate wages, tax withholdings and other deductions to process weekly payroll in both an internal accounting system and 3rd party payroll processing software, including ability to investigate and resolve employee payroll related issues and inquiries.
  • Ensures accurate and timely updates of employee payroll database including new hire setup, terminations, withholdings, other deductions and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of employee payroll transactions including 401k plan payroll administration such as employee deferrals, company match, loan repayments and interface with 401(k) plan administrator and providing year end ERISA compliance testing data.
  • Handles administrative tasks for onboarding for multi-state employer, new-hire orientations, including data entry in Human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Knowledge on Unemployment claims
  •  Benefits administration support for self-insured plan.
  • Familiar with FMLA, ADA, MA PFML, short-term disability and other multi-state employer leave laws.
  • Assist with end of year reporting
  • Understanding our employee evaluation process and assisting monthly
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.  ADP experience will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of 401k savings plan payroll administration including ability to work with plan administrator.
  • Proficient with 3rd party payroll processing software, specific knowledge of ADP system a plus.
  • At least 5 years of Payroll experience
  • Knowledgeable on compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
