Schedule: Part-Time 24 hours. Mon - 7:00am - 3:30pm, Wed - 7:30am - 4:00pm, Fri - 7:00am - 3:30pm

The Patient Coordinator facilitates order entry and patient flow for all patients in the Breast Imaging Section. Under direct supervision of the Mammography Supervisor, the Patient Care Coordinator facilitates workflow to make sure clinicians attend to all patients in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Participates in daily workflow, and follows policies and procedures for daily operations.
  2. Recommends changes to the protocol that would improve the overall quality and care for the patient.
  3. Be able to take initiative to follow up on matters as required.
  4. Enters the appropriate orders into the RIS/HIS (Meditech) accurately for all exams.
  5. Ensures that all clinicians are aware of a patient and make sure they are finished with the exam in a timely fashion.
  6. Participates in workflow, and adapts the workflow as necessary to a changing environment.
  7. Monitors the equipment performance and takes the appropriate measures to have the problems resolved (i.e. arrange service/repairs).
  8. Consistently demonstrates effective communication, both written and verbal, with all departmental, hospital staff, and patients.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical field experience required.
  • Must be able to lift and move 10 pounds of weight.
  • Staff adheres to all C.A.R.E. Standards
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Patient care.
  • Excellent organizational skills, Interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate and interact effectively with individuals.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills/ organizational skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and think in a proactive manner
  • Ability to work in an area that can be noisy and have extreme temperature/ humidity variations.
