Job Purpose

The Financial Analyst supports the New England Gas organization in the plan to performance process. You will deliver annual operating budgets, forecasts, and longer-term business plans working closely with finance leads and business stakeholders. You will work to challenge strategic and financial priorities and deliver financial analysis and insight to our NE Gas business partners. Focus primarily on operating expenses and capital expenses.

Key Accountabilities

* Assist Finance Leads and Finance Director in the development, coordination and consolidation of the business plan and budgets, monthly forecasts and supporting financial analyses for the business.
* Provide financial support to the New England Gas business. This includes budget preparation and analysis, forecasting, cost control, performance measurement and financial analysis.
* Monitor and review financial information, analyzing results of cost types across business teams to flag anomalies, inform commentary on results and deepen understanding.
* Conduct ad-hoc analysis as required in support of rate case filings, regulatory requirements, business case costs and benefits and general decision making.
* Build knowledge of financial systems, dashboards and reports in order to conduct necessary analysis and investigation of costs and ensure efficient access to information. Provide feedback and join cross-functional teams to improve automation and efficiency of financial reporting to support business.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with the New England Gas business teams, finance colleagues and other internal teams.
* Understand the regulatory structure of NE Electric Gas company (along with IFRS and GAAP accounting).
* Collaborate with other finance colleagues on training and best practices to drive efficiencies in activities and improved outcomes, demonstrating continuous improvement.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance experience.
* Experience and developing skills in financial analysis, budgeting, long term planning, operational KPIs, GAAP or IFRS accounting, and presentation of financial information.
* Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, learn financial systems, develop relationships with business stakeholders, collaborate with colleagues.
* Experience in utility service business activities and systems a plus.

$102k- $120k a year
