PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs a variety of food services including serving food to employees and visitors and also responsible for the clean-up and stocking of the cafeteria and food preparation areas.

DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY:
Reports to the Director of Food & Nutrition, Dietitian or Charge person in place.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DEMONTRATES COMPETENCY IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Maintains serving line in a clean, neat and organized manner; requests replenishments as needed.
Serves hot and cold food on serving lines to visitors and employees by set portion size & standards.
Replenishes the salad bar and keeps it clean.
Replenishes silverware, napkins, cups, straws, condiments, etc.
Makes coffee; ensures coffee machines stay full and clean.
Ensures all beverage containers are full; soda, iced tea, juices, etc.
Wipes down tables and chairs in the cafeteria throughout the day with a hospital approved cleaner.
Clears any soiled dishes, trash from tables.
Clears soiled dishes, trays; scrapes refuse into garbage containers; loads dishes, trays onto cleaning racks; rinses dishes/utensils.
Disposes of trash/garbage in the appropriate manner.
Assures accuracy and cash drawer balances daily.
Puts clean dishes and utensils away.
Washes specified items by hand: pots, pans, knives, etc.
Cleans refrigerators, freezers and other cafeteria equipment. Checks daily temperatures.
Mops floors as needed, posts wet floor signs for spillage.
Puts away stock inventory; notifies supervisor when stock item needs ordered.
Keeps stock areas clean and organized.
Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor.
Fills vending machines appropriately and per scheduled requirements.
Assists evening cooks and diet aides with needs upon finishing cafeteria duties.
Observes infection control practices at all times; processes food items according to safe food handling procedures.
Operates equipment safely and correctly.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
Completes annual education requirements.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly.
Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.
Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
Attends all monthly staff meetings. Makes up missed in-services with supervisor.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement
Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Can read, write and speak English.
* Basic computer knowledge.

EXPERIENCE:
* prior cashier or handling money experience.
* Honest and Integrity of highest importance
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Prior Foodservice experience recommended.
* Servsafe and food allergy training preferred
