About Bunker Hill Community College:

Job Description:

  • Teach MUS-171: Introduction to Music Technology as part of new partnership between BHCC and The Record Co. (https://www.therecordco.org/).
    • MUS-171 Course Description: This course serves as an introduction to the use of technology in the creation of music. Using digital audio software, students learn the basics of sound manipulation, including sequencing, editing, synthesis, and mixing. Additional course topics include the properties of sound, basic recording technology, and music notation software. This course is designed for both music majors and non-majors.
  • Teach at The Record Co. facility in Boston during Fall semester 2024.
    • The Record Co. Location: 960 Massachusetts Ave, Boston, MA 02118
    • Class Schedule: 6-8:45 pm on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays from September 3 to December 16, 2024.
    • Schedule Consideration: The class involves setup and breakdown time before/after class. Faculty will be compensated for 30 minutes prior and 15 minutes after class (i.e., 5:30-9 pm total schedule commitment).
    • Schedule adjustment may be possible if necessary.
  • Potential for additional course assignments in future as partnership expands.


Requirements:

  • Master's degree in music required; documented comparable expertise and experience in the field will be considered.
  • Teaching experience in music required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a recording studio environment.
  • Demonstrated fluency with Avid Pro Tools.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with college teaching.
  • Experience with curriculum development, especially as related to music technology


Additional Information:

Salary: $1,291.00 per credit hour
