Analyst Strategic Sourcing Tech Ops

Position Summary

The Analyst Strategic Sourcing Tech Ops reports to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing Technical Operations & Inflight Entertainment & Connectivity Category. The Analyst is responsible for partnering with the internal business unit in the planning and execution of predominantly longer term and impactful procurement projects. In addition to owning sourcing events from the planning to the contracting stage, the Analyst supports the business units in administering, interpreting and potentially modifying existing agreements. The Analyst supports the Category Manager by providing market intelligence and analytical support to the category team, and assists fellow Senior Sourcing Analysts, Contract Analysts and Buyers in applying and communicating best sourcing practices using analytical tools and techniques.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Executes sourcing events (RFx) for high impact, high spend, complex products and services
  • Proactively monitors market trends that impact spend category and adapts strategies to mitigate risk
  • Analyzes historical spend to assist in the development of supply management and channel strategies
  • Partners with business units and legal team in the negotiation of contracts and agreements, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Drives value for JetBlue and respective business units by estimating cost savings opportunities and evaluating and tracking strategic sourcing performance metrics (key performance indicators [KPIs])
  • Partners with business units in developing budgets for future spend under contracts
  • Works with Financial Planning & Analysis on reviewing category spend to ensure budget compliance
  • Supports the category team and business unit with data analysis and recommendations
  • Ensures compliance with operational requirements, internal controls and regulations
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation, Finance or Engineering OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • One (1) year of finance, strategic sourcing or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrate Microsoft Excel skills through a work sample
  • Expert with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong financial modeling, quantitative and data analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and project communications and stakeholder expectations
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (20%)
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of aviation maintenance, supply chain, and contracts with different financial and operational structures
  • Previous experience working for an airline and knowledge of aviation industry
  • Experience with e-procurement platforms & tools, in particular Ariba & Contraxx
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet modeling and database administration, including applications beyond Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to an organization's Executive Leadership levels

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Must be willing to appear in-office a minimum of three days per week
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be availability to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue's Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $62,400.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
