Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a General/Interdisciplinary Engineer providing support to AFLCMC/HNC a one-of-a-kind Air Force activity which provides life cycle management for information assurance and other critical systems. The division's primary mission is cyberspace support. AFLCMC/HNC is responsible for technology development, acquisition, sustainment, and demilitarization of cyber security systems or products that provide mission assurance by ensuring warfighter access to the information systems and its products, while denying adversaries access to the same. The division also provides product support to other critical Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), and national force protection and intelligence systems required by the nation to mobilize, deploy, support, and sustain operations. AFLCMC/HNC is organized into 10 branches spread across multiple facilities.

This position will support the Information Assurance Technical Assistance Center (ITAC).

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Resolve unique or novel problems, conditions, or issues

  • Significantly alter standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and known techniques

  • Provide expert advice to professional colleagues and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations; provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods; and execute significant projects representing an important segment of the agency's operating programs
  • Exercises judgment and ingenuity in evaluating the value and applicability of new or improved technology, strategies, trends, or applications
  • Investigating, predicting, and anticipating issues and conditions extending beyond a single specialty area, and affecting known standards, approaches, precedents, or concepts
  • Developing or collaborating in the formulation of new standards, applications, concepts, or theories
  • Changing existing knowledge and extending an understanding of phenomena
  • Assessing and carrying out strategies and actions to affirm the integrity, economy, quality, and effectiveness of engineering or scientific programs; or advocating recommendations, strategies, and actions to reconcile or resolve novel, conflicting, or controversial issues or policies
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain an active Top Secret clearance

Education: MA/MS and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 years must be in the DoD, OR

    • BA/BS degree and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 year must be in the DoD, OR
    • 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in Job Descriptions, of which 8 year must be in the DoD.
  • Experience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programs desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment meeting end users' requirement
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance: Top Secret

Education: MA/MS and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 years must be in the DoD
